What is better than a warm cup of coffee early in the morning? Not much. But, as someone with high anxiety and sensitive to caffeine, I had to come up with an other option.
How did my obsession start?
In the very early stages of my abusive relationship I began experiencing heart palpitations caused from stress and anxiety. I was also purchasing my first house at the time, and working full time. My doctor (unaware of my living situation) recommended I give up caffeine. My first thought was... "but I LOVE coffee, how is this going to work?"
So I began researching alternatives to coffee and came across a popular alternative made of mushrooms. One tbsp of mushroom coffee contains less than ½ the caffeine of a regular cup of coffee. I mix one Tbsp with about 1-2 cups of water or hot milk.
